EvisceratiNet
We Were Down, We Were Down
Yesterday the site was down for a number of hours because I did something ridiculously stupid that disabled php. Today the site was down for a number of hours, but I didn't do it.
I've noticed that since going live on Sunday evening the site has been inundated with blogspam. I mean there are pages and pages and pages of it in my spam filter, which makes me feel slightly less guilty about the legitimate posters who are getting caught by it (I still want to figure out why my spam filter has something against Scotland, but I'm working on overcoming it's nationalist fervor.) 1
All that spam in so short a time has got to be resource-heavy -- if those were actual users commenting on my site I expect that would represent more traffic than my expanding hosting solution could handle. As it is, it's just spambots, but it's still taking its toll on site performance.
Hopefully they go away soon...

Everything New Is Old Again
So finally, at long last, EvisceratiNet has moved out of the realm of shared hosting and back into the realm of virtual dedicated hosting. The site is now being hosted on Prgmr.com.
In the coming months (after November, when NaNoWriMo is gone and I'm not trying to write at least 1667 words every day) there will be more content in this spot.
